كوسة باتي بان «أوكرا» هي صنف مبكر النضج، عالي الإنتاجية، ذو نمو شجيري مدمج. تصل النباتات إلى مرحلة الحصاد خلال حوالي 50 يوماً. ينتج هذا الصنف ثماراً صغيرة وطرية، ويُفضَّل حصادها عند قطر يقارب 3 سم لتكون مثالية للتخليل والحفظ. تتميز الثمار بلون أخضر فاتح إلى متوسط لامع، ولب أبيض ناعم يُعد ألذ وأطرى من لب الكوسة العادية أو القرع.

عند ترك الثمار لتكبر في الحجم، تصبح مناسبة للقلي، أو الطبخ، أو الحشو. ولضمان جودة عالية واستمرار الإنتاج، يُنصح بجمع الثمار 2–3 مرات أسبوعياً.

طريقة الزراعة:

يمكن زراعة البذور مباشرة في التربة الخصبة خلال شهري أبريل ومايو بعد زوال خطر الصقيع. وللحصول على محصول مبكر، يُنصح بإنتاج الشتلات مسبقاً. تنمو النباتات بشكل أفضل في مكان مشمس ومحمي من الرياح. تُزرع على مسافات 80–100 سم بين كل نبات وآخر، وحوالي 80 سم بين الصفوف.

Patty Pan Squash ‘Okra’ is an early-maturing, high-yielding bush variety with a compact growth habit. Plants reach maturity in approximately 50 days. This variety produces small, tender fruits, typically harvested at around 3 cm in diameter for pickling and preserving. The fruits have a pale to medium green, glossy skin and white, fine-textured flesh, which is considered more delicate and flavourful than that of marrows or common courgettes.

If allowed to grow larger, the fruits are well suited for frying, stewing, or stuffing. For best quality and continuous production, fruits should be harvested 2–3 times per week.

Growing instructions:

Seeds may be sown directly into fertile soil from April to May once frost risk has passed. For an earlier harvest, raising seedlings is recommended. Plants grow best in a sunny, wind-protected location. Recommended spacing is 80–100 cm between plants and approximately 80 cm between rows.
